Adventures of a Lion Cub

The courageous lion cub scampers
Through the wild, overgrown jungle.
Prowling through the tall grass
He seeks a victim on which to pounce.
In the distance he spies movement.
Chase, stalk, jump, paw, repeat.
He follows his prey ’til boredom.
After the game of chase is done,
The cub climbs a lofty jungle tree,
Basks in the sun, listens to the birds.
Yawns, stretches, slinks back to the den,
Adventures over and done for the day.
Back in the warmth and safety of the lair,
The mighty lion returns to an innocent kitten
Who curls up at my feet and happily dreams.
